Spring is here! We are so excited to finally get started in the fields. We planted the first onions on April 2 and the first peas on April 3. The greenhouses are full of plants ready to be planted, hanging baskets with beautiful flowers and also a variety of vegetables that we harvest every week.
We currently have a variety of root crops available including potatoes, carrots, parsnips, celery root, beets, onions, rutabagas and turnips. Salad greens, lettuce, spinach and swiss chard from the greenhouses as well as apples.
The farm stand is open Monday – Saturday and you are welcome to stop by and pick up your produce! We also have beef, pork, chicken and eggs available. You can find us at the Bank Street Winter Market in Kalamazoo every Saturday from 8am – 1pm. Many of the summer markets will be opening in May!

Spring CSA Program:
Our Spring CSA will be starting in 1 week, now is the time to sign up! It is an 8 week program that will be the week of April 14, 2014 – June 3, 2014. Produce shares will include a variety of root crops, salad greens, spinach, swiss chard and the first of the field crops including asparagus, green onions and more! Produce shares, beef/pork shares, egg shares and chickens shares are available. Check out the website for more information.

Summer CSA Programs:
All of our Summer CSA locations are set up and now is the time to sign up! CSA is a great way to know where your food is coming from and get to know your farmer. It encourages you to eat healthy, try new recipes and is also a great value for your family! We are offering 2 great options for our summer CSA program this year.
Our Traditional CSA boxes includes a variety box of pre-sorted vegetables and fruit. The traditional boxes encourage you and your family to eat healthy and try new types of produce you otherwise may not have tried. Produce shares, meat shares and egg shares are available. Several pick up locations are available including: Spring Lake, Grand Haven, Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Park Township, Hudsonville and at the farm.
The Farm Stand Style CSAgives members the option to choose what they would like in there share and have the flexibility to come when works for them. Members pre pay for the season and receive a credit that can be used during the summer program. Members receive 7% of their share price added onto the total for investing in the farm. For example: If you would purchase a large share for $600.00 you would have a total of $642.00 to spend at our farm stand. You can choose to pick up at one of the following locations: Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Park Township, Kalamazoo and at the farm.
All CSA members are emailed a weekly newsletter with updates from the farm and seasonal recipe ideas. We will have a CSA farm visit during the summer and CSA members.
