The fall harvest is well under way.  The fall squash has been picked up.  They have finished harvesting potatoes and turnips.  They are working now on radishes, beets, carrots and rutabagas.  Broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts, kale, spinach and swiss chard does not mind some cold and we are still harvesting them from the fields.  We got our first snow on October 24 and we actually received quite a bit. It did not last long, but it is not often that we receive that much snow in October!  Several pictures from the first snow and other farm pictures can be found on our facebook page.

We can be found at the following markets in November:

  • The Muskegon Farmers Market is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday until Thanksgiving and then every Saturday until Christmas.
  • The Kalamazoo Farmers Market is open on Saturday’s until Thanksgiving.  We will be at the Kalamazoo Winter Market across from the outdoor market (In the Bingo Hall) this year.  You will be able to find us there every Saturday this winter.
  • Our farm stand will also be open year round! You can stop by Monday – Saturday 9am – 8pm.

The fall CSA started this week and you are still welcome to join!  We really have a lot of great produce available for the winter months and would love for you to enjoy local produce this winter!  Email lindsey@crispcountryacres.com for more information.
