Ingredients:

  • 1 T. vegetable oil
  • 6 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1 onion diced
  • 6 T. butter
  • 6 T. flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 c. grated cheese
  • bread crumbs

Directions:

Heat oil.  Saute cabbage and onion for 5 minutes.   Melt butter; add flour and seasonings.  Blend thoroughly.  Stir milk in gradually.  Cook until thick, then add grated cheese.  Stir in melted.  Mix cheese sauce with cabbage.  Put in baking dish.  Top with buttered bread crumbs.  Bake at 35o degrees for 3o minutes.
