Enjoy local food this summer!
We all know that eating healthy is important.
But there are a few problems…
- The connection from farmer to consumer has been lost.
- Families are busy and don’t have time to shop for local food.
- Good quality food is hard to find.
- People don’t know where their food is coming from.
- People don’t know what real food tastes like.
Our farm CSA boxes can help!
Our CSA boxes provide you with good tasting produce. Know where your food is coming from and make sure your fridge is always filled with healthy food!
So, what is CSA? It stands for Community Support Agriculture. The boxes include a variety of local, in season food. It will encourage you to eat more local produce and support local farmers.
Just a few of the highlights:
- Our boxes are customizable and packed according to your preferences.
- Pay as you go, no need to pay for the full season up front.
- Place boxes on hold at any time.
Become apart of our community. Fill your fridge with all kinds of local food this summer!
Learn more about the summer CSA program HERE.
Thank you so much for your support! We could not do this without all of you.

Get 4 – 40 times more nutrients with these baby greens!
Sounds too good to be true right?!
I thought so to when I first read it.
Microgreens have 4 – 40 times more nutrients by weight than their fully-grown counterparts. (Source: NCBI)
How cool is that!
These mini greens pack in a full punch when it comes to flavor and nutrition.
Microgreens taste just like the flavor of the matured crop. Beet micros taste like a beet. The broccoli that is included in our mild mix, tastes like broccoli and so on. We grow several varieties. (Our confetti mix is my favorite, it’s like a party on your plate!)
Treat microgreens just like your lettuce. Wash and dry with a salad spinner. Store in your fridge.
Enjoy them as a garnish, as a tasty addition to sandwiches or as a salad.
Stop by the farm this week or the farmers markets this weekend to pick some up and give them a try!
See you soon,
Lindsey
Take a look back in history with us!
I saw a post on facebook earlier this week that said “It literally feels like we are on January 74.”
How true is that?! These dark days of January have been dragging on. Looking forward to some summer sunshine.
Things are a bit slower here in January and I work ahead on summer projects and also projects around the house.
One of the projects was sorting pictures. I found a few pictures from the farm long ago. I LOVE looking at these old pictures!
It gives us an idea of another time. I enjoy taking a look at the past to see where we have come from.
So, enjoy a few pictures and learn a bit of where the farm has come from and the history of your food!
In the 1850’s our family settled on the farm in Crisp, Michigan. A small town north of Holland.
When deciding on a name for our vegetable farm we wanted to incorporate our family’s history of farming and so, Crisp Country Acres was born.
The big wooden barn that you see now was built in 1899! Check out the top of the barn next time you are at the farm and you can see the date carved into the barn.
Check out the house picture below. Can you see the similarities to the house now? They added on to the house, but you can still see some of the original house. So cool!
The family has raised a huge variety of crops on this land since the 1850’s. Hay, soybeans, wheat, corn, pickles for the Heinz pickle factory, cattle, hogs and dairy cows. We have now settled on vegetables.
We welcome you to join us on this farming journey!
Follow along, watch your food grow.
Taste the difference of a carrot pulled fresh from the ground. A tomato, picked at the peak of freshness, right off the vine. Make a salad with a head of lettuce harvested just the day before.
Support a local farm and feel good about what you are feeding to your family.
Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to seeing you soon!
The cure for your spring fever.
The long gray days of winter are here.
We love walking in the greenhouse and seeing all of the green!
Thought we would share some of the green growth with you today.
The greenhouse tomatoes are looking awesome! They have been transplanted once and will be growing here until we transplant them into the greenhouse later this month.
We have a lot of lettuce growing in the greenhouses right now!
Pretty rainbow swiss chard.
Lots of baby carrots. These will be ready in just a few weeks.
Look at this spinach! This is now available at the markets.
Cilantro microgreens – These have been my favorite lately!
We have started harvesting these radishes in the greenhouse last week.
Alright, that’s all for now.
Hope you enjoyed the tour!
Have a great week,
Lindsey
